Before we started working with Jamie, my husband and I were very apprehensive about giving birth.  We were initially considering a planned C-section because of our fears.  Neither of us felt comfortable about medical procedures or being in the hospital environment.  For these reasons, we decided it would be good for us to have a doula assist us during the birth.  We interviewed several doulas before speaking with Jamie.  After our meeting, we knew immediately that we wanted to work with her.  We were impressed by her knowledge and experience as a birth doula and felt very comfortable talking to her. 

My water broke during our second meeting with Jamie.  Talk about prefect timing!  Jamie helped guide us through the whole birth process from our home to the hospital.  We felt a tremendous relief just knowing that we had her there by our sides.  We ended up needing to use Pitocin to induce labor, which caused my contractions to intensify greatly.  Jamie was there to talk me through the pain.  She was my focal point during those painful contractions.  It was an important personal goal to reach 6 cm before receiving an epidural, and Jamie helped me do this.  I know things would have gone far differently if she wasn’t there to coach me through it.  Our birth experience was challenging at times, but more amazing than we could have ever imagined.  We are so thankful for Jamie’s assistance in making our daughter’s birth so special.  We can’t imagine having done it without her there.  I would highly recommend Jamie to anyone looking for a doula.
